A little over 18 months ago I caved and bought the Bentgo Modern Lunch box. I just couldn’t resist it any longer! I wanted a bento-style lunch box that I could use daily, was stylish, and could help me with portion control.
As I went on my search for such a box on the World Wide Web, I came across the Bentgo Modern Lunch box. My goodness, I never thought I would be so hyped up over a lunch box! 😂
Was this my first experience with a Bentgo lunch box? No. I had purchased for my children the Bentgo Kids lunch box and was always a little jealous of them, even though I was the one who was putting them together for them! Ha!
So, right before the new school year began, and I headed back into school to teach, I began searching for a bento-style lunch box that would fit my style and personality. And that’s how I came across the Bentgo Modern box. You should’ve seen me when it came in the mail, I was so ecstatic. 🤩 I even did a little unboxing video on my YouTube channel.
After using it for quite some time, I’m here to answer the question: Is the Bentgo Modern Lunch Box worth it?

What I love about the Bentgo Modern Lunch box
1. Portioned compartments
I absolutely love this feature! It’s one of the main reasons why I wanted a bento style lunch box. I also love how I know the exact measurement of each compartment!
2. Ease of use
This Bentgo box is very easy to use. It comes with a removable tray that can be microwaved (under 3 minutes) which makes it so easy to heat my lunch. The tray then fits easily back into the outer box. Finally, the beautiful latch secures everything in place so it doesn’t come open.
3. Easy to maintain.
As I mentioned before, it has a removable tray. This makes it easy to clean. I simply place it in the top rack of my dishwasher and let the dishwasher do its job. The rest of the lunch box I simply wash with some water and soap.
4. Stylish, I mean it’s simply beautiful!
I love the nice sleek look it has and how practical it is. It’s not oddly shaped and doesn’t take that much space in the refrigerator. I typically don’t use another lunch bag to place my lunch box in, I just carry it on its own into work.
5. Warranty and Outstanding Customer service!
This is my absolute favorite part of this product. This company actually stands behind their warranty and are very hassle free. My original Bentgo lunch box broke on the back hinge after using it for 18 months. I was so disappointed! But then I remembered that this product comes with a 2 year warranty. I called them up and their customer service representative was so kind. All I had to do was provide a picture of the box and where it had broken. And while I was on my phone my new Bentgo Modern lunch box was sent out to me on expedited shipping!
6. Price
I paid about $35 on Amazon, so in my book, that’s pretty good for what you are getting!
Areas of improvement
Well, no manmade product is ever perfect, so of course there is always room for improvement. An area of improvement would be to change the back hinges from plastic to a more durable material, especially since that area does get a lot of wear with the opening and closing. Another thing that would be great is having a wider variety of color options. Other than that I think is AMAZING!
So, do I think that the Bentgo Modern Lunch box is worth it? YES I do! I recommend this lunch box. It’s beautiful, practical, and helps me with portion control. It has become my favorite lunch box of all time!
